A 50-year-old from Mostviertel let his fists do the talking after drinking a lot of alcohol. To do this he must perform community service. The man was tried in St. Pölten for resisting state authority and attempted bodily harm.
Normally he drinks beer, but Almdudler-Weiß was simply cheaper in these quantities. But after 2.5 liters of the ‘dangerous mixture’ a 50-year-old’s fuse blew. Eviction from his house, threat of divorce: at the end of August the Mostviertler saw red. Now he had to appear at the court in St. Pölten for resisting state authority and attempting to cause bodily harm.
“I just shut my brain off. “I’m very sorry,” he said. In reality, he just wanted to escape his troubles and hide in the nearby floodplains. What the frail 50-year-old doesn’t remember is that he stood up to the police in the best ‘Bud Spencer style’. It took ten officers and special units to finally bring the man under control.
Punches and kicks
He tried to resist his arrest with a lot of aggression, punches and kicks. “It looked like he wanted to start a boxing match,” an official said during the trial. In the end it was only enough for shadow boxing. He had previously kicked in the door of his (adult) stepson’s room, punched him and then “wiped him off with a shoehorn”.
“It’s about my house, my wife, my life,” the angry man said in full in the courtroom. At least the parts he can remember. The man has not yet been able to fill the gaps in his memory caused by alcohol. After it was the 50-year-old’s first “misstep”, Mr Rat entered clemency and ordered the Mostviertler to perform 135 hours of community service.
