The UN Security Council will meet this Sunday to discuss the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
According to the agenda of the UN’s highest decision-making body, the meeting will take place at 9 p.m. in Euskal Herria, behind closed doors, and will focus on “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.”
Brazil, which holds the presidency of the Security Council, said today it would convene an “emergency meeting” of the body in light of the serious escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
This also applies to King Mohamed VI of Morocco, a country that currently assumes the presidency of the Council of Morocco Arab competitionhas called this Sunday an “urgent” meeting of the organization, although according to official Moroccan sources there are “intense discussions” to hold it at the League’s headquarters in Cairo.
