They are said to have invaded the workshop in Innsbruck’s Viaduct Arches late on Friday morning and initially attacked the owner who worked there with a baseball bat. A fight then broke out, resulting in the death of the 27-year-old victim was allegedly attacked with a hammer and threatened with a knife.
“Cash or vehicle required”
“It was an attempted theft with serious consequences,” the Public Prosecution Service said on Sunday when asked by Krone, “the suspects had demanded cash or a vehicle.”
The victim eventually managed to escape from the workshop and call for help. When neighbors came to help, the initially unknown perpetrators fled. A short time later, the two locals were located and arrested by police during a manhunt in the underground parking garage of a supermarket.
