On Saturday afternoon, a man (56) threatened his ex-wife’s partner with a knife on the street in Vienna-Meidling in the presence of his two children. Attentive passers-by could prevent something even worse.
The ex-wife and her partner (47) actually wanted to pick up her ex-husband’s two daughters by car at Hetzendorfer Strasse. But when the 56-year-old asked the two children not to get into the car and they refused, the situation escalated.
56 year old arrested
According to police, the 56-year-old suddenly pulled out a pocket knife and used it to kill his ex-wife’s partner. Passers-by saw the incident and were able to prevent worse in time. They overpowered the suspect. When alert police officers arrived, they arrested the 56-year-old.
No injuries
The folding knife was also confiscated. The suspect was released after questioning. No one was injured in the incident.
