A serious moped accident occurred in the municipality of Röthis in Vorarlberg on Sunday evening. A 17-year-old, for reasons that are still unclear, drove his two-wheeler off the road and crashed into a lamppost. The boy was seriously injured in the crash.
On Sunday around 8:16 p.m., the moped rider was driving on the L190 national road in Röthis towards Rankweil. For no apparent reason, the 17-year-old left the road near the Interpark Focus work site and crashed into a lamp post without braking.
Thrown unconscious onto the cycle path
The boy was thrown from the moped during the head-on collision. He remained unconscious on the asphalt cycle path. After initial treatment, the driver of the accident was taken to the state hospital in Feldkirch with serious injuries. The moped was a total loss.
