Horrific traffic accident in Germany: At least seven people were killed and several injured on the Autobahn 94 in Bavaria around 3:15 a.m. on Friday. A tractor-trailer is believed to have caused the accident. According to the police, the car had a Viennese license plate.
The accident involving a suspected towing vehicle took place early Friday morning near the Waldkraiburg/Ampfing intersection, police said. The number of deaths is a “current status” – there are believed to have been more than 20 people in the van. It is currently unclear whether children are also among the fatalities. According to information from “Bild”, all other occupants were slightly to seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
The driver tried to avoid control
The direction Munich had to be temporarily closed – a diversion was set up from the Mühldorf-West junction. Initial investigations show that the accident car came from Vienna. According to the police, they had previously spotted a suspected smuggling vehicle. The driver then accelerated his vehicle sharply and attempted to evade control.
