After the terrible death stage on Friday morning in Bavaria, in which at least seven people died, more and more new details are now coming to light. Police are currently investigating a possible murder. The apartment of the suspected smuggler has already been searched – it is located in Vienna.
The terrible accident took place around 3:15 am on Friday on Autobahn 94 in Bavaria. Seven people were killed – including a six-year-old child – and several passengers were injured. Only a short time later, investigators stormed an apartment in Vienna. Why? The suspected smuggler who drove the accident vehicle is said to have his residence there. The vehicle was also registered in the Austrian capital. Officials said the man was a 24-year-old Palestinian.
The number of unauthorized submissions is increasing
“The Bavarian police are carrying out the investigation into the accident at full speed and are also supporting the federal police in investigating the underlying smuggling and those behind it,” Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann told Bild. The Ampfing/Waldkraiburg exit, where the terrible accident took place, is about 50 kilometers from the border with Austria. According to information from the Federal Police and the Bavarian Border Police, the number of registered unauthorized entries has been increasing for months.
Driver previously evaded control
The officers had previously noticed the tractor vehicle in question during a check. The driver then accelerated his vehicle and fled. According to police, car overcrowding may also have contributed to the high number of deaths and injuries. So a large portion of the occupants may not have been wearing seat belts at all.
