Thousands of euros in damage – “locksmith” opened Grazer’s door and stable

Date:

Two people from Graz have apparently fallen victim to a fraudster: the pensioners who had locked themselves out found a locksmith online. The “fitter” came immediately and opened the locked door, but then stole thousands of euros worth of jewelry and valuables!

A 73-year-old woman and a man (78) from Graz left the key in the front door around 11:15 a.m. on Friday and locked themselves out of the apartment in the Leonhard district.

They found an unlocking service online. The alleged installer then came and asked the pensioners to wait in the courtyard of the house while he worked, which the two did. This made it easy for the criminal.

The currently unknown perpetrator also managed to open the locked door of the apartment, but his fraudulent mission was not yet fulfilled. He entered the apartment and stole jewelry and valuables worth thousands of euros!

The police warn

The investigation into the still unknown perpetrator is ongoing. Forensic examination was also carried out in the victims’ apartment. Meanwhile, the police warn against suspected traders offering dubious services. Time and time again, ‘scammers’ use various tricks to gain access to apartments and thus commit so-called stealth thefts. If a door is opened, the police appeal, pay particular attention to the people working on site and never leave them unattended.
