GDP and employment will grow by 1.6% in the Basque Country in the third quarter of 2023

From the second to the third quarter of this year, GDP grew by 0.2% and employment by 0.4%.

He Gross national product (GDP) of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) increased by 1.6% in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to Eustat’s Advance Quarterly Accounts estimates. He employment opportunitiesmeasured as full-time jobs, has also grown by 1.6% year-on-year.

Compared to the second quarter of 2023, GDP grew by 0.2% and employment by 0.4%, respectively. It is about ninth consecutive quarter with quarterly employment growth.

Eustat points to “an uneven activity behavior in the main sectors of the BAC economy”, although the evolution remains “positive” overall.
