Tuesday morning there was a tragedy in Grins in the Tyrolean district of Landeck! A local motorist (58) collided with the truck of a 33-year-old. All help came too late for the driver of the car, who was trapped.
The tragedy happened around 6:45 am. The 58-year-old was driving his car on Tiroler Straße B171 from Landeck towards Pians. According to police, he was alone in the car and had no lights on despite the darkness. “At the same time, the 33-year-old drove a 15-tonne wheel loader out of a business exit and across the B171,” investigators said.
Rescued with rescue equipment, injuries too serious
The two vehicles collided. The 58-year-old was trapped and was only rescued by the fire brigade with heavy rescue equipment. “The man died at the scene of the accident from his serious injuries.” Tiroler Straße had to be closed for about an hour. The Landeck fire brigade with 16 men, the Grins fire brigade with 22 men, an emergency doctor, five rescue workers, two Landeck police patrols and a towing service were present.
