Slovakia’s most wanted criminal was on the run for eleven years. He is considered one of the most brutal criminals in his country. He has now fallen into the net of detectives in Styria and is awaiting extradition.
Particularly serious violent crimes, kidnappings, blackmail – Anton H. was considered one of the most brutal criminals in Slovakia. As a teenager, he was one of the country’s top boxing talents, winning several medals at European and World Championships. Until he eventually ended up in the depths of the underworld and the right-wing extremist scene.
The well-trained criminal quickly became infamous and made a name for himself as ‘the man for the rough’. Until the handcuffs first clicked on the mafia gang member about twelve years ago – and the career criminal was sentenced to twelve years in prison.
Code names and forged documents
But Anton H. had other plans: he managed to escape and went into hiding. He managed to hide from the judge for more than eleven years. “He was very sophisticated, traveling around Europe using a variety of aliases and forged documents,” police spokeswoman Denisa Bárdyová said.
The ‘Most Wanted’ ended in Austria: Federal Criminal Police investigators managed to locate 45-year-old Anton H. in Eastern Styria and handcuffed him. He is now in custody awaiting extradition to his home country.
