A week and a half after the major attack by the radical Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas on Israeli civilians, the situation in Israel is increasingly escalating. The Israeli army is about to launch a ground offensive in Gaza, hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing and the number of dead and wounded is skyrocketing.   • The Hezbollah militia in Lebanon announced a “day of rage against the enemy” and spoke of a “massacre” in view of Israel’s rocket fire.
  • In Jordan, demonstrators tried to storm the Israeli embassy. The government canceled a four-party summit with US President Joe Biden in Amman scheduled for Wednesday.

  • According to Palestinian figures, about 3,200 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Gaza war. About 11,000 others were injured.
