Two men in Vienna accused of sexually assaulting a 36-year-old woman panicked: the two Czechs attacked the police officers. One of the two even tried to set his dog on the officers.
A 36-year-old woman reported to the police that she had been the victim of sexual abuse. She accused two Czechs, 49 and 27 years old. When officers found the two suspects in the early morning hours last Monday in an apartment in Vienna’s Leopoldstadt district, the situation quickly escalated.
The men punched and kicked the police officers, and the 27-year-old tried to set his dog – according to police spokesman Mattias Schuster, a mixed breed weighing about 30 to 40 kilograms – on the officers.
Pepper spray used
The police then used pepper spray and quickly had the situation under control. The two suspects were arrested and taken to a prison after receiving first aid from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service.
The dog, which was loose for a short time, was picked up and handed over to animal protection. The officers were not injured in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
