The 42-year-old driver drove towards Vienna with her eight-year-old son shortly before 8 p.m. She wanted to get off the A2 at Ilz. But according to them, it was no longer possible to shift gears and the car lost speed.
A 36-year-old East Styrian from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district who was driving behind her was unable to brake or swerve in time. There was a rear-end collision!
The driver and her son were taken to Oberwart Hospital, but only the woman appeared to be injured. The 36-year-old was also unharmed. The Hohenegg, Obergrossau, Untergrossau and Sinabelkirchen fire brigades attended and the two cars involved in the accident were severely damaged.
