The increase in collection has allowed an increase of 500 million euros compared to this year’s accounts. Financing to municipal authorities is one of the items that has increased the most, by 9.2%.
The Provincial Council of Bizkaia plans to have a budget of €10 10,308 million euros by 2024, which amounts to one 5.1% more (500 million) than this year. The increase is due to the increase in collection, as explained by the deputy of the Treasury, Itxaso Berrojalbiz.
Berrojalbiz detailed these figures today during the meeting of the Government Council and will form the basis for the preparation of the Government Council budget project, that the regional entity has planned approve on October 31.
The majority goes to institutional commitments, which total EUR 8.19 billion. In this section you will find, in others, the items intended for the payment of the quotas, both of the Basque government and of the municipal councils of Bizkaia. This is precisely the item that increased the most, by 9.2%, to a total of 1,132.1 million.
The Provincial Council’s own management budget will in turn increase to 2,117.3 million euros, 4.3% more than in 2023.
