Wanting to confront her 16-year-old daughter’s alleged drug dealer, a mother (33) went to the young woman’s apartment in Vienna’s Neubau district on Wednesday. An argument broke out involving several young people. One young man pulled out a knife, another hit the mother in the face with his fist.
What exactly happened in the apartment on Zieglergasse on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. is still being investigated. According to police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger, the mother-daughter team met the 16-year-old’s girlfriend and her mother in the apartment. There were also three young people – Syrians and Iraqis aged 15, 18 and 19 – in the building. One of them suddenly threatened the 16-year-old with a knife, while another hit the 33-year-old in the face. All three then fled the apartment.
Eyewitness alerted the police
Meanwhile, an eyewitness alerted the police because he saw the three suspects with the knife in the stairwell. Thanks to an accurate personal description, the officers were able to stop the young people in the immediate vicinity. Two of them were arrested for causing grievous bodily harm and bodily harm with intent.
The 16-year-old’s mother was slightly injured. The suspected murder weapon was not found. After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the complaint was filed en masse. Further investigations continue.
