Hamas is believed to have held about 200 hostages. The story of the twelve-year-old autistic girl Noya Dan is particularly cruel: she was burned by the terrorists.
When the rocket fire began on October 7, Noya Dan hid with her grandmother in Kibuz Nir Oz, near the Gaza Strip. When she heard explosions and voices in the house, Noya sent a voice message to her mother. “Mommy, I’m scared! There are people in the house. Help me,” it said.
“Every parent’s nightmare”
It would be the last sign of life for the little girl who was believed to have been kidnapped. Noya is autistic. She was particularly sensitive to light, touch and sound. Given these circumstances, the circumstances must have been incredible torment. “I am currently experiencing every parent’s nightmare,” Noya’s mother Galit admitted a few days ago to the English newspaper “The Sun”. “Every parent in the world can feel our pain.” She lived in hope that the little one would “somehow survive.”
There is now a sad certainty: Noya had to die. The State of Israel announced on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that she had been burned.
Joanne K. Rowling chimed in
The author of the famous Harry Potter series, Joanne K. Rowling, had previously campaigned online for the little girl – she wanted to let the whole world know about the story of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice fan, whose fate was so difficult.
Rowling has continued to advocate for Israel since Hamas’s brutal attack and strongly condemns the terrorists’ atrocities.
Hamas has kidnapped children
Backed by a hail of thousands of rockets, Hamas fighters from the blockaded Gaza Strip entered nearby Israeli towns on October 7. They killed several people and abducted soldiers and civilians, including children, to the Gaza Strip.
