How will pony stallion “Alf” ward off annoying flies in the future? Strangers simply cut off the poor man’s tail on Monday evening and took him away. Now even the police are investigating.
Could this incident have something to do with the upcoming season of Krampus and Perchten? Many horse owners in Carinthia have had the experience of horses’ tails being cut off, as this utensil is said to be very popular among Perchten groups. Mini pony stallion “Alf” has also lost his tail. On Monday evening, unknown people sneaked into a meadow in Tigring near Moosburg and cut off the tail of the four-legged friend.
Reported to the police
“People must have known the way, because the paddock cannot be seen from the street,” says Rupert Treffner, whose heart almost broke on Monday when he saw his visibly disturbed pony stallion. The little horse can no longer protect itself against the annoying flies for a long time now. “It takes one to two years for the tail to grow back,” says Treffner. “My wife has filed a police report. This is burglary and animal cruelty.”
Treffner has a very special bond with his pony, after all, he saved him from the butcher. The stallion lives in a cozy stable with five goats and chickens. And this is located at the rear of the building, so that the animals cannot be disturbed by passers-by. The police have now started an initial investigation.
