A 56-year-old motorcyclist from Salzburg collided with a doe on Tuesday morning in the Upper Styrian Schöderberg (Murau district) south of the Niedere Tauern. The driver has been taken to hospital. The animal died.
At about 9:50 a.m., the 56-year-old from the Zell am See district of Salzburg was riding his motorcycle on the Kuenstenweg in Schöderberg towards Schöder. Suddenly a doe changed lanes right in front of him. The motorcyclist was unable to avoid the collision.
Hind lay dead in the streambed
The motorcyclist fell and was injured. Subsequent motorists provided first aid and alerted the rescue services. After the emergency, the 56-year-old was admitted to the LKH Tamsweg. The doe was found dead in the streambed of the artificial stream.
