The Departments of Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport and Lehendakaritza are the ones that recorded the largest increases, with increases of almost 23% and 118% respectively.

Three departments —Health, education and work and employment– of the meeting of the Basque government almost 65% of the total budget in 2024 (15,025 million euros), as shown by the distribution of posts approved today by the Board of Directors.
The draft accounts allocate 4,896 million euros to the Health, where Osakidetza accounts for almost 80%. The ministry of Gotzone Sagardui plans to undertake new investments to modernize the healthcare system worth 137 million euros, in addition to increasing pharmaceutical expenditure by more than 20 million euros (570 million euros).
Education, with the new law in the approval process, will have a total budget of 3,672 million euros, with planned increases for staff in public centers (5.4%) and investments in infrastructure, growing by 31.3%. Similarly, educational concerts rose 3%, to 785.9 million. For its part, the HAURRESKOLAK Consortium reaches 74.4 million euros, with an increase of 17%, thanks to their free provision under the demographic challenge strategy. The UPV will see its budget increase by 6.2% (375.3 million).
These two councils will see increased their items in percentages higher than 5%.
For its part, the department led by Vice President Idoia Mendia, Work and employmentwill have 1,177 million people, 6.1% more than in 2023, to meet the benefits (641 million), including the R.G.I (382 million), the IM V (180) and the additional rental allowance (79) The corresponding item to Lanbide amounts to 1161.7 million.
Housing and Transport and Lehendakaritza, the departments that increased the most
As for the rest of the departments, the department led by socialist Iñaki Arriola (territorial planning, housing and transport) increases by almost 23%, while Lehendakaritza increases by 118%. At the other extreme, the Ministries of Tourism, Trade and Consumption (-16.5) and Public Administration and Self-Government (-3.1) are the only ministries to decrease in amounts.
