The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. The 54-year-old was driving her car on the B100 from Lienz towards the west. “In the municipality of Assling she left the road due to microsleep,” the police said.
Drivers were lucky
She then collided with an oncoming car driven by the 45-year-old. A blessing in disguise: both drivers suffered only minor injuries in the crash. They were cared for by the rescuers. During the cleaning work, the road was only passable in one lane.
