The fact that the victim survived the attack with the 20 centimeter long knife was probably due to a reflex that took away the attacker’s desire to stab him again. The young woman from Linz had kicked the masked robber in the stomach.
As reported, the 20-year-old walked from her workplace to her apartment in the Franckviertel in Linz on Tuesday evening around 7:45 p.m. A masked man suddenly stopped in Fröbelstrasse on his way home.
“Give me the money,” the approximately 6-foot-tall stranger demanded with a foreign accent. He threatened the woman with the knife and ordered her ‘not to scream’.
Clothes slowed Sting down
The woman from Linz then looked for the wallet in her backpack. She looked around furtively to see if anyone could help. Unfortunately, seeing no one, she screamed loudly for help. The masked man then immediately stabbed the knife into the woman’s upper abdomen, where the attack was slowed thanks to the clothing.
At the same time, the victim also reflexively pushed her knee forcefully into the robber’s abdomen. The attacker, who was apparently in pain, then fled.
Dragged to the workplace with a knife in his stomach
The victim, who still had the gun in his stomach, dragged himself back to the workplace. Colleagues alerted the police and the emergency doctor, who removed the knife. Fortunately, the wound was not deep and she was treated in hospital. A large-scale search for the black-clad robber was unsuccessful. If caught, he could face a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
