In Buenos Aires, people dressed up as Spider-Man on Sunday (local time) and gathered. For a record attempt they wore the typical blue and red costumes and masks. The Guinness World Records organization has yet to verify whether the record was actually achieved (see video above).
The previous record of 685 people dressed as Spider-Man was set in Malaysia in June. According to the organizers in Buenos Aires, more than 1,000 people came together this time. The meeting was intended to show “that even in times like these, when many people are having a hard time, you can have fun,” said co-organizer Uki Deane.
Collection for poor people
The campaign also collected food for a soup kitchen for the poor. The Guinness World Records organization has yet to determine whether it is actually a new world record. Other disguised groups also come together to set world records, for example people in vampire costumes.
