People are still stunned by the terrible act of bloodshed: an FPÖ councilor is said to have shot his lover in the head in the Waldviertel (Lower Austria) on her own horse farm and then committed suicide. During a search, the 34-year-old was found dead in a shed.
They knew each other because of their political role in the FPÖ, at some point they became closer and dared to enter into a secret relationship – which ended in a fatal tragedy. She, Elisabeth P. (39), riding school owner from the Waldviertel village of Aschen, which she founded ten years ago, loved life and apparently (together with her husband) a man who ultimately became her downfall. What happened? P. was reported missing on Sunday evening.
The Czech police have informed local colleagues
Shortly afterwards, local police received a call from their Czech colleagues that a woman had been discovered shot in the head. Placed in a cemetery near the border! The rumor quickly spread through the region that the husband committed the terrible act. But there is no mention of the professional soldier. Because the man has a watertight alibi: he has been stationed in the Middle East for the red-white-red army for a year.
Then on Monday the bang effect! The horse lover may have been murdered by her secret lover. The explosive thing about it: the man was a well-known FPÖ councilor from a wine-growing region! Dozens of emergency services were searching for 34-year-old David D. for hours on Monday.
David D. lay dead in a barn
The administration urgently warned the population about the armed fugitive, who is said to have traveled around Schiltern near Langenlois (Krems district). The man’s car was discovered on Monday afternoon and a suicide note was also reportedly seized. David D. is also dead: he committed suicide in a barn – shortly before his 35th birthday.
What remains are many unanswered questions: why did Elisabeth P. have to die in her beloved horse farm (another crime scene can be ruled out because of the evidence)? Did she want to leave him? Why was her body stuffed in a trunk and taken to the Czech Republic? Acquaintances say the two shared a favorite spot there. However, for Elisabeth P. it was certainly not this cemetery…
