The two friends, who were the same age, had been drinking heavily at a Halloween party hosted by acquaintances. As they were about to start driving, the 21-year-old car owner realized he was far too drunk to get behind the wheel. “You drive, I can’t stand it anymore,” he said to his comrade of the same age. But he was already drunk himself. Nevertheless, he grabbed the keys, started the engine and drove away.
The car fell over
Shortly afterwards it happened on Kirchbacher Straße (B 73): in a right bend he lost control, left the road, rolled over and ended up in a meadow.
The friends managed to free themselves from the car. The Edelstauden volunteer fire brigade was alerted by a driver who happened to pass by. A test on the driver showed that he was seriously intoxicated. He has now lost his driver’s license.
