Autopsy completed – first details of the bloody crime in Tyrol have been confirmed

Date:

In the case of the murdered 36-year-old, who was found covered in blood by his parents on Tuesday evening in his apartment in the Tyrolean Itter (Kitzbühel district), an autopsy on the body was carried out on Wednesday. For “tactical reasons,” investigators would not reveal whether investigators already had a suspect in mind.

The autopsy essentially confirmed what investigators had already assumed after finding the body at the crime scene. It was foul play. “By a massive attack on the neck,” lead researcher Gert Hofmann described to the “Krone”.

The murder weapon was probably a knife
The murder weapon was probably a knife, “at least a sharp object,” the deputy head of the Tyrolean State Criminal Investigation Department added when asked.

The body had been in the apartment for some time
The first investigations have already been carried out during the holidays. Are the police already on the trail of a suspect? There was no answer to this question “for tactical reasons”. In any case, the body must have been in the apartment for a long time. “Probably a day or two,” says Hofmann.

Discovered dead by own parents
The 36-year-old’s body was found in the apartment in Itter on Tuesday evening around 6.30 pm. Particularly tragic: her own parents discovered their deceased son in the kitchen. “After returning from vacation,” as Hofmann explained that morning.

The victim is said to have been born in Germany and had been working as a lift worker at a mountain railway in the Tyrolean lowlands for several years.
