A major operation in the middle of Vienna caused a stir on Wednesday. In addition to the police, rescue brigade and fire brigade, WEGA also arrived (see video above). But the reason was innocent.
Emergency services gathered at Stock-im-Eisen-Platz in the heart of Vienna in the early afternoon. There were also many spectators.
“There is no reason to worry,” the police wrote on platform X. “It is an ongoing operation in a store.”
Alarm system sprayed fog
According to information from “Krone”, the reason for the large-scale operation is a misfire in an alarm system. The defect activated the self-protection system and sprayed fog. There was not much left for the emergency services. Because the fog cleared on its own, the fire brigade did not even have to ventilate.
