That doesn’t happen every day either: a bear was filmed in the hunting areas of Lippekogel, Magdalensberg and Christofberg in central Carinthia! There he hacked into a feeder.
“We have set up the game camera in our wild boar hunting area,” says Karl Schmied, head of the hunting area and chairman of the district of Maigern (St. Georgen am Längsee). Friday evening he and his son Thomas were wide-eyed. A bear – in Central Carinthia – near Hochosterwitz Castle! “I’ve never seen that before, a bear in our hunting area. That’s unusual.” The area is a popular hiking spot.
“The young animal has broken open a feeder that was set up for wild boars.” The hunter suspects that Master Petz is from Slovenia. “He is probably looking for a new territory. Hopefully he will move on, because he can do more damage.”
