Ina Kenoyer must answer for the murder of her old friend. The Public Prosecution Service mentions “financial greed” as a motive. Steven Riley Jr. had just inherited $30 million and didn’t want to share with the 47-year-old.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the victim told his girlfriend that he wanted to end the relationship. There are no civil unions in North Dakota. Only in the event of marriage is the spouse automatically entitled to a share of the inheritance. That’s why Kenoyer has apparently decided to get rid of her partner.
Poisoned with antifreeze
After Riley collected his inheritance from his lawyer in early September, he suddenly became seriously ill that same evening. The complaint alleges that Kenoyer did not call 911 until the next day. The doctors were unable to save the newly minted multimillionaire. The autopsy and toxicology report showed that antifreeze killed Riley.
However, the alleged killer claimed that Riley committed suicide and that she would share the inheritance with his son. He gets everything, while the 47-year-old will spend life behind bars if convicted.
