A previously peaceful fishing trip on the New Danube turned into horror for three men on Friday evening. A woman allegedly threatened the fishermen in their tents with a knife and then fled. The Vienna police were alerted.
The three men – aged 27, 46 and 48 – are said to have been in their tents on Finsterbuschstrasse when the attack took place shortly before 1am, when they were suddenly asked to leave by the unknown woman.
The woman pulled out a knife and threatened the fishermen. She then allegedly fled, after which the men alerted the police.
Knife was recovered
During the immediate search, the suspect, a 34-year-old Austrian woman, was quickly found near the crime scene and temporarily arrested. “The knife has been recovered,” the Vienna State Police Directorate said on Friday.
It is still unclear why the 34-year-old threatened the three men. The woman is currently in police custody. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
