Waiting for spare parts: the escalators at Graz train station have been on strike for weeks

Date:

At the exit of the tram stop at Graz Main Station, two escalators have been standing still for several weeks – those responsible hope for a quick solution.

Two escalators at Graz Main Station fell victim to special jokers: unknown people blocked screws on the way to the tram stop. “The drive chain tore,” explains Gerald Zaczek-Pichler from Holding Graz.

Spare parts not available
One elevator has been out of service for a month and a half and a second one recently went on strike – for the same reason. “We are waiting for a spare part, unfortunately the manufacturer is currently experiencing delivery problems,” says Pichler. However, it is hoped that both escalators can be repaired this week. Until then, the consolation remains that you burn at least five calories when you use the stairs “uphill”.
