The incident at a cigarette vending machine in Augasse in the Gösting district of Graz is said to have taken place early on Monday evening. The woman from Graz reported to the police at 7:30 p.m. that a man had approached her from behind and demanded cash. Because she refused, the perpetrator tried to take her wallet from her back pocket. The 30-year-old then defended himself and kicked the man, who then pulled a knife and stabbed the woman twice.
When the woman then told the stranger that she would now call the police, the man fled. A search turned up negative. The woman from Graz was found at the UKH to have two superficial cuts on her knee.
