The incident at a cigarette vending machine in Augasse in the Gösting district of Graz is said to have taken place early on Monday evening. The woman from Graz reported to the police at 7:30 p.m. that a man had approached her from behind and demanded cash. Because she refused, the perpetrator tried to take her wallet from her back pocket. The 30-year-old then defended himself and kicked the man, who then pulled a knife and stabbed the woman twice.
When the woman then told the stranger that she would now call the police, the man fled. A search turned up negative. The woman from Graz was found at the UKH to have two superficial cuts on her knee. According to their statements, the perpetrator was dressed completely in black and masked with a black balaclava. The stranger spoke German without an accent.
