“Netanyahu is to blame” – New videos of two Hamas hostages released

Date:

The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization active in the Gaza Strip released a video of two Israeli hostages on Thursday. It shows an older woman and a boy. The authenticity of the video could not initially be verified. However, those affected are listed as hostages on an official website by family representatives.

Both hostages strongly criticize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government. It concerns 77-year-old Hanna Katzir and 13-year-old boy Yagil Yaakov. The terrorist group expressed on Telegram its willingness to release the hostages “for health and humanitarian reasons.”

Netanyahu spoke of “propaganda”
Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, had also previously published videos of hostages. A woman also sharply criticized the Israeli prime minister. According to his office, Netanyahu spoke at the time of “cruel psychological propaganda.”

Hostage: “We are being treated well”
The 77-year-old in the Islamic Jihad video said she believes Netanyahu bears responsibility for the “chaos and all the bad” that happened to them. He is also responsible for the murder of children. The Israeli head of government had caused damage to Israeli and “another” society. The members of Islamic Jihad, in turn, did everything they could to ensure their survival, the woman said in Hebrew. The hostages would be treated well. She called for an agreement to release the hostages.

In the video, the boy criticized the army’s “barbaric shelling,” which killed children and Israeli prisoners. The child also said that Islamic Jihad saved the lives of the hostages.

Islamic Jihad’s military wing had earlier promised the release of two hostages, a woman and a boy. It was initially unclear whether these were the same people as in the video. The Israeli government declined to comment on the announcement.
