After having just been locked up for a robbery, a boy (16) committed another robbery in Vienna. As soon as he got out of prison, he threatened a tobacconist in Ottakring with a knife on Thursday evening and fled with cash from the cash register and a few packs of cigarettes. However, the suspect was quickly arrested because he had committed a similar act with the same skill a few days ago.
Because the tobacconist has video surveillance, the recordings could immediately be viewed by officers from the Ottakring city police command. One of the officers noted that the perpetrator could probably be someone who had been arrested a few days ago on suspicion of aggravated robbery, because he was wearing the same clothes.
Boy now back in custody
The boy was found in his apartment. The clothing he wore during the robbery and the stolen goods were also found there. The 16-year-old is now back in custody on suspicion of aggravated robbery. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the investigation.
