A 77-year-old farmer from Mauterndorf went shopping with his wife on Saturday afternoon. When the couple returned, money and jewelry were missing from the farm’s rooms. The farmer reported the theft to the police.
She found parts of the jewelry in the farmhouse, in rooms the couple rented out to temporary workers from Slovakia. The five suspected workers were questioned by the officers and made partial confessions. There is no trace of the rest of the loot. The police investigation is still ongoing.
