It was exactly the time on the Vienna Südosttangente (A23) when something like this should not have happened: on Tuesday around 6 a.m. a truck accident took place near Handelskai in the direction of Vösendorf, which caused major traffic jams. By 7:30 am the lost time was already about an hour.
According to the ÖAMTC, one lane was closed due to the accident and the traffic column quickly reached the Vienna Nordrand Expressway (S2) at Hermann-Gebauer-Gasse.
Alternative routes were also blocked
At 7:30 am the time loss was already over an hour. In addition to the Danube bank highway (A22), all alternative routes such as Wagramer Straße, Biberdeckenweg and Raffinerie Straße were also blocked. No further details are known about what happened to the accident.
