An unknown man rammed a hunting knife into the stomach of a 38-year-old man on the street on Monday evening. A search for the perpetrator has so far been unsuccessful.
A 38-year-old man was walking with his girlfriend on the Mariahilfer Belt on Monday evening when they encountered someone they did not know, who then shouted at the two of them and accused them of saying something derogatory about him.
The search is underway
The previously unknown man then allegedly stabbed the 38-year-old in the stomach with a hunting knife. The victim received emergency medical care from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was then taken to a hospital shock room.
A search for the suspected perpetrator has so far yielded nothing. The central department of the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the investigation. Whether there was an acquaintance between the perpetrator and the victim is currently being investigated.
