Not all burglaries end with stolen e-bikes or gold coins. A 54-year-old from Klagenfurt broke into a restaurant in Pörtschach on Thursday evening.
The evening was already long when a 54-year-old from Klagenfurt stopped by a bar in Pörtschach. “The man used physical force to break through a side door and enter the restaurant,” police said.
Provisionally arrested
“He searched the place but only found drinks. He drank a bottle of beer and two bottles of coke.” Then the clearly exhausted man from Klagenfurt lay down on a couch and fell asleep.
The 54-year-old confessed
When he left the restaurant shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday morning without any loot, a police patrol drove by. “The man was apprehended and temporarily arrested,” police said. “A dog patrol searched the restaurant for possible other perpetrators. The search was negative. The 54-year-old has confessed and wants to compensate for the damage.”
During the investigation, the officers noticed the 54-year-old Klagenfurt man’s jacket, which had been stolen the day before at a construction site in Pörtschach. This is also the reason the man is reported.
