Spectacular accident Monday night in Tyrol’s Zillertal: A 28-year-old resident came off the B169 Zillertalstraße near Mayrhofen, ran onto the track and was catapulted into the oncoming lane after about 50 meters. The young man suffered injuries – an alcohol test revealed more than two per thousand.
The accident happened around 3:15 a.m. The 28-year-old was driving his car out of the valley on the Zillertaler road when he suddenly lost control of the steering wheel. “Then he came to a stop on the gravel of the track and then again in the oncoming lane. There the vehicle came to a stop after lying on its side after 50 meters”, the police reported.
The bus driver sounded the alarm
A subsequent bus driver eventually discovered the car involved in the accident and immediately set the rescue chain in motion. After first aid at the accident site, the 28-year-old was taken by rescue service to the Schwaz district hospital. According to the police, an alcohol test showed a value of more than two per thousand. Appropriate advertisements will follow.
