There is still no trace of the two perpetrators who robbed a tobacconist in Scharnitz (Innsbruck-Land district) on Saturday afternoon. The Tyrolean State Police (LKA) has now been able to find the machete as well as the jacket and mask worn by the unknown persons.
The previously unknown perpetrators attacked the tobacconist shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday. One of the unknown suspects was equipped with a machete and pepper spray and was also wearing a face mask. They stole several thousand euros from the tobacconist and managed to escape.
The perpetrators managed to escape unnoticed. Fortunately, the victims were not injured. However, they received a shock. An immediately initiated search has so far been unsuccessful.
Now the investigative LKA Tirol may have achieved its first partial success. As announced, a jacket that “could possibly be attributed to one of the perpetrators, and the machete and Halloween mask used in the crime were also found near the crime scene” and seized. “A police dog led the investigators from the crime scene to these objects,” said a spokesperson for the LKA Tirol.
The LKA asks for information about the clothing and weapon. You can send information directly to the LKA Tirol Journal Service via 059133/703333 or to any police station.
