Blockade broken – Video: Driver took activists on the hood

Date:

Past incidents have shown that the activists’ tenacious actions have always angered many motorists. On Monday it happened again: while driving south near Handelskai, a driver took last-generation activists on the hood. Stopping the car was probably not an option, as evidenced by the video of a ‘Krone’ reader reporter…

Once again, the activists of the Last Generation Austria caused problems in Vienna’s morning traffic on Monday morning. Several streets were paralyzed by sting operations. There were huge traffic jams. Many early birds were late for work.

Bold action near Handelskai
Those affected by the demonstration included the exits of the Handelskai, Altmannsdorfer Ast and Lobau highways. Around 7:30 am it wasn’t particularly civilized, especially at the Handelskai exit.

Activists rode on the hood of the car
As the video from a ‘Krone’ reader reporter shows, two protesters tried to stop a car and block the driver’s path. However, he did not let this stop him from pressing the gas and continuing to drive.

The driver just kept driving
The driver simply carried the activists on the windshield for a few meters until the two men finally jumped out of the car. Fortunately, the two were not injured in their daring plan. It is not known whether there will be any consequences for the driver; he continued driving after the incident.

According to the motorists’ club ÖAMTC, activists were deployed early in the morning at several critical points and caused large traffic jams.

Some demonstrators stuck themselves to the road with sand. They also poured orange warning paint on the asphalt.
