“Children should be appropriately involved in decisions that affect them.” Not only is this demanded by the SOS Children’s Village on the occasion of Children’s Rights Day on November 20, but it is even enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted 34 years ago today and entered into force today. “How often do adults make decisions that are highly relevant to young people without taking their interests and perspectives into account?” criticizes Christian Moser, director of SOS Children’s Villages, referring, among other things, to the current debate on climate protection.
