Like every year, many online stores lower their prices on these shopping days and advertise huge discounts. But consumers must be skeptical so as not to fall for empty advertising promises.

Austrians are likely to save money this year when it comes to Christmas shopping and holidays. According to a study by Deloitte, higher prices and a change in personal financial situation mean that more than a third of people want or can spend even less money on gifts than last year. The total estimated Christmas gift budget is between 100 and 349 euros.

Because many people have to tighten their belts this year, special promotions such as Black Week discounts at management consultancy firms are becoming increasingly important to attract customers. In the survey, 34 percent said they would receive their Christmas presents in November, 17 percent around ‘Black Friday’, which this year on November 24 offers huge discounts and special offers.
