Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced that the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will take effect at 7 a.m. local time (05 a.m. GMT) on Friday, while 13 women and children held hostage by the Islamist group will be released from 4 p.m.: 12 a.m. hours (2:00 PM GMT).
Qatar, one of the ceasefire mediators, assured on Thursday that the temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip would come into effect on Friday morning, although it was due to begin on Thursday.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has said the ceasefire will come into effect tomorrow at 7am local time (5am GMT), while 13 women and children held hostage by the Islamist group will be released from 4pm (2pm GMT). 00 GMT).
For their part, Egyptian sources assure that communication and consultations with “all parties on the ceasefire agreed in the Gaza Strip” are continuing and have explained that what is currently being consulted are the “detailed executive procedures to be applied and comply with both parts of the ceasefire agreement,” without providing further details.
Qatar, Egypt and the United States brokered the deal between Hamas and Israel, which would lead to a humanitarian pause in the enclave that has been under siege and sanctions since the Islamist group attacked Israeli territory on October 7.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, indiscriminate Israeli bombings in the Palestinian enclave have caused more than 14,000 deaths.
