New details revealed – terror plans at school: perpetrators were not the only ones

Date:

Two boys planned an attack on a school in Bruck an der Mur. They were convicted for this in July. It has now become known that research is also being conducted into other children.

The case shocked the people of Styria in the middle of summer: two young boys, only 15 and 16 years old, had been radicalized and became supporters of the Islamic State. One of them posted propaganda material and beheading videos in a Telegram chat group under the pseudonym ‘El Terror’. The two even planned an attack on the high school in Bruck, wanted to make explosives and shoot all the Christians in a school class.

Only after the verdict did the case become public
Police discovered the boys in 2022 and they were convicted this year. Only then did the matter become public, which resulted in a lot of criticism, including from the FPÖ.

This has submitted a request to the Ministry of the Interior. The answers justified the information blockade by the ‘personal rights of all those involved’, but also, curiously, by the fact that no media had inquired about it

There were further investigations
It is also interesting that in addition to the two convicts, six other people were investigated, but these did not concern accusations of terrorism. These investigations were stopped because the persons involved were not yet criminally liable – that is, under the age of 14 – or because the prosecution of a juvenile crime was not pursued. No more precise personal information is provided. The FPÖ calls for a reduction in criminal immunity.
