A major fire broke out in a warehouse in Radstadt (Salzburg) on Thursday evening. Alert level four has been declared. The fire brigades of Radstadt, Altenmarkt, Eben, Flachau, Bischofshofen and St. Johann took action. The fire was under control around 11 p.m. However, several gas bottles in the building still needed to be cooled.
The hall of an agricultural machine mechanic – located directly on the B320 – was completely on fire. According to initial information, several vehicles and machines caught fire. Dangerous: There are several gas bottles in the hall. They had to be cooled with plenty of water.
The warning level has been increased to four
Because the Floriani only had a small amount of water and the fire spread quickly, operations manager Martin Oppeneiger raised the alarm level to four. As a result, additional fire brigades were alerted, which were deployed with a total of nine respiratory protection teams. The Cobra police unit was also on site: there was a danger of a sudden explosion. She let the gas bottles burn in a controlled manner.
The fire was under control around 10:45 p.m. While the fire was being extinguished, Ennstalstrasse (B320) and the adjacent railway line were completely closed for approximately three hours. The extent of the damage has yet to be determined.
