The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department arrested a 24-year-old on Friday morning who allegedly committed two armed robberies at betting shops in Vienna.
The police confirmed this in a broadcast on Friday evening. A gun he used in the October 21 crime was seized. The suspect has confessed.
With drawn knife
The man committed the first offense on August 6 in Vienna’s Landstrasse. The suspect is said to have entered the restaurant armed with a knife shortly before closing time at midnight. At the same time, a cash register employee was busy with the daily invoicing.
Employee threatened
On October 21, the same perpetrator, armed with a dummy pistol, struck in a betting shop on Simmeringer Hauptstrasse. He threatened the employee at the cash register and forced the woman to hand over money. He managed to escape again.
