Serious traffic accident Saturday morning near Mieming in Tyrol (Imst district)! Due to the weather conditions and snowfall, two trucks crashed into each other. A driver was trapped in his cab.
At around 7.45am, a 44-year-old man from Pakistan had to slow his heavy vehicle on the snow-covered B189. An oncoming truck driver (42) from Poland was unable to drive past the semi-trailer. “He braked, but skidded and hit the guardrail,” police said.
Taken to hospital
Due to an evasive maneuver, the Pole ended up head-on into the stationary tractor-trailer. “The Pakistani citizen was trapped in the driver’s cabin,” the director said. The 44-year-old was rescued by the alerted police officers. The emergency team eventually took him to hospital in Zams with significant injuries.
