A rockfall in Tyrol ended with plenty of light on Sunday evening! In Niederndorf (Kufstein district), a stone weighing about 200 kilograms crashed into a car parked in front of a house and smashed through the windshield. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the heavy boulder came loose from the Hechenberg behind the building, fell next to the recently replaced rock fall net and landed on the car of a 53-year-old. The stone eventually landed next to the vehicle.
Significant material damage
“No one was injured. There was significant damage to the car,” police said. The further course of the rockfall and the resulting damage will be clarified with the responsible authorities on Monday.
