Ukrainian authorities say two women and a seven-year-old girl were killed in the bombing of a city in northwestern Ukraine. The bodies of the women and two injured men have been recovered from the rubble of stricken houses in the town of Seredyna-Buda on the border with Russia, Ukraine’s prosecutor general said on Tuesday.
The girl was in a car with her stepfather at the time of the shooting and died shortly afterwards in a hospital from her injuries.
Attack with multiple rocket launchers
According to initial findings, the prosecutor’s office said the attack was carried out with a multiple rocket launcher.
At least five houses were destroyed. Photos released by the Public Prosecution Service show burnt-out buildings, collapsed facades and destroyed roofs.
Since the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine in February 2022, Kiev has regularly reported Russian shelling of towns and villages on the border with Russia.
